Accommodation Information
The NOC of SWIIS09 recommends the following two accommodation options:
- The Politehnica University Guesthouse :
- approx. 2**, no breakfast - 25 EUR/night/person
- twin rooms with WC, shower, TV, air conditioning, refrigerator;
- within walking distance from the Conference venue (10-15 min. walking);
The location of the University Guesthouse is a student area and there are some cafeterias around, as well as a Carrefour and some restaurants at a walking distance (also 10-15 min. walk). Acces downtown is by underground. Since the Guesthouse residence is located in a student area it may be noisy at times.
Note: The 25 EUR/night/person price refers to ONE of the two places in a twin room. In the case of too many requests from SWIIS09 participants for the Guesthouse accommodation, it may be necessary to house two participants in the same room.
- AppartHotels downtown, in the very center of Bucharest:
- two 4**** AppartHotels, breakfast included - 70EUR/night/person
- easy access to the airport bus (783)
- access to the Conference venue (Politehnica University of Bucharest) by bus (336), or trolley bus (61) - approx. 20 min. ride to the University (bus stop is at 5 min. walk from the hotels)
The two AppartHotels are located in the heart of Bucharest, very close to one another. There are also fairly close to one of the most beautiful parks in town, the Cismigiu Garden, right in front of the City Hall. Many shops, restaurants, pubs, and bars around.
The banquet and cocktail sites are restaurants within walking distance from the hotels downtown.
For those participants who will choose hotels downtown, someone from the conference NOC will escort participants to the conference site on October 28th in the morning.
